I’ll be participating the Sales Event of the Finnish Painter’s Union at Cable Factory, Helsinki. For a second time, I might add. And like the last time, I have three paintings for sale at the event. Continue Reading
Demolition Art project expands its concept to a new spot, this time on a premises that are not going to be demolished but quite the opposite: the place has been renovated and the owner wants to offer something new to their clients. So they contacted Jouni Väänänen, the person behind the Home of Art and many other projects and started negotiating about how Demolition Art concept would fit in their business plan. So, the place is nothing less than Hotel Helka, right in the heart of Helsinki City, and the outcome will be open (with restrictions) to public from January 14th 2021.
Due to COVID19 and all the restrictions caused by it, I’ve spent countless hours indoors in 2020. And I’ve used a lot of that time for creating art. Which in general has been a good thing, because in 2019 I reserved an exhibition time for myself for early 2020 and the gallery space is large. Meaning that I’d be needing quite a few canvases to avoid presenting empty walls.
Another Demolition Art project is about to take place at Kerava later this year. I have the honour of being one of the many selected artists that are about to create art on the spot during the spring and early summer of 2020.

For the last few years I’ve mainly painted black and white canvases, concentrating on the actual letter forms and various materials/surfaces. So during last fall I felt the urge to paint something colourful and spiced up with comic-like characters. So I made a small batch of about 20 canvases for Christmas sale. I liked the experience so much that I decided to paint some more canvases after the event.
